SAALHEIMER & SRAUSS (Marked DOUBLE S in a... - Lot 319 - 68 Art auction
SAALHEIMER & SRAUSS (Marked DOUBLE S in a circle), Germany, circa 1925. Rare bookwinder in sheet metal lithographed on its 4 faces, representing a Scotsman in kilt ("The Scottish Bank"), who pulls out the tongue on which a coin is placed. A pusher under the tongue makes him swallow the coin! While the tongue is being pushed in, the eyes close! In the same series is the very rare book-binder with "Mickey Mouse" (C. 1930's) sticking out his tongue, as well as the "Minestrel" (C. 1928) sticking out his tongue (The least rare)! Very nice general condition of this model, the lock is missing, but the locking plate is present... 17,5 cm Ht
