Philosophical dictionary or introduction to human knowledge - Lot 312
Philosophical dictionary or introduction to human knowledge Paris, Durand, 1764 Work published anonymously, attributed by Barbier I, 981, to Didier Pierre Chicanau de Neuville (Nancy 1720-Toulouse 1780). He was in turn Guard of Stanislas, lawyer and tutor in Paris, Inspector of Booksellers in Nîmes, he entered the orders and became holder of a chair of history in Toulouse. This dictionary illustrates his adherence to the ideas of the Philosophers of the Enlightenment in his attempt to unravel what can be good or harmful to man. In-12, contemporary binding, very good condition.
