(9) Set of characters, trees and animals from North Africa, ( Made in England, Germany and Belgium), before 1925, 3 Pretty painted lead or pewter flat trees (Banana tree in pewter, coconut and palm tree marked "Britains"), and with very cut green leaves; 3 characters in "Durso type" composition, but not marked (2 young camel drivers with raised arms and blue turban, and a Bedouin); 2 very old cut-out cardboard boxes (Palm tree and a young African in a loincloth carrying a suitcase on his back): Printed by "Phobel-Brussel/La Phototypie Belge, located at N°2, Avenue Edouard de Thibault in Etterbeek...since 1905. This firm specialised around 1920 in colouring books and Epinal-type board games". This former industrial site has now become the R.H.O.K - school of art and engraving). A pressed wooden camel (German around 1930) is attached to it. It's a beautiful lot gathered around this theme! Nice condition (a few lacks and 1 arm glued back on...)
