PARIS, ewer and its basin, late 18th century. Baluster-shaped ewer, gilded cherry-shaped lid fretel, gilded brass lid attachment, decorated on the coffee pot and the basin with polychrome and rose bouquets of flowers, in compartments alternating with gold branches. Ht 21cm, Lg. 29cm, end of the 18th century (Hair in the pelvis, restuaration at the neck of the ewer) Provenance, a handwritten label bears the following words: ewer and bowl in porcelain from Old Paris offered by Caroline Bonaparte, wife of my great-great-uncle, Joachim Murat, King of Naples and of the two Sicilies to Rosalie Bonafoud-Murat, my great-aunt, wife of Baron Lafon de Caix, Deputy, Prefect of the Tarn, who died on 17 November 1853 in Caix. These objects (...) were transmitted to me by Baroness Henri Lardenois, Rosalie Bonafous-Murat's granddaughter without posterity.
