The cable car - Lot 465
The cable car It is the copy at the scale 1/7 of the cable-car of San Francisco, it is a work of craftsmanship entirely made by my husband, who offered it to me for my 70th birthday. The real cable car, as its name indicates, is a tramway, which moves by means of cables that are buried in the basement of the city of San Francisco, it has only a control that allows the driver to maneuver it, but no engine. To allow it to run on the "Stoomgroup Turnhout" train circuit, my husband had to make some adaptations. He equipped it with wheels and designed a push car, on which the driver of the carriage sits. This car contains two batteries inside the seat, which provide the necessary energy to move it. The cable car is strong enough to be able to pull two miniature cars, allowing passengers to join the ride.
