HUNTLEY & PALMERS, Made in England, circa 1927, "Reading - Lot 447
HUNTLEY & PALMERS, Made in England, circa 1927, "Reading" lithographed tin cookie tin in the shape of a boat! This rare, almost century-old "toy box" bears the name of the English town where it was produced in 1927! This world-famous manufacturer is still a dream among collectors, and the prices achieved in auction rooms are sustained: as an example, a similar model sold for £1,265 (including fees...) on June 8, 1995 at Sotheby's (London). Our example shows signs of various uses, but is still very interesting given its GREAT age... A "white air vent" on the ship's deck is missing.
